Parkour Update Week!
For a while, I thought about what exactly Chrome Switcher should be and where I should push the direction of Chrome Switcher. Chrome Switcher is a puzzle-platform game where you navigate through the level while rotating between three colors.
Last week, I announced plans to overhaul the wall jumping system and adjustment of levels to make the game easier at the beginning for newcomers. Today, I would like to announce that for the rest of this week, I will be focusing on the parkour aspect of this game.
By March 7th, you can expect Version 0.2.1 of Chrome Switcher to be released. It's called 0.2.1 instead of 0.1.4 because this is a relatively big update compared to previous updates. This week will be separated into two categories: Essential, what you can 100% expect the game to have in V0.2.1. And Hopeful, what I hope to implement, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to by the end of the week.
Essential Changes:
- Rigged Arms/Hands
- Animations for movement, jumping, and falling
- Overhaul on the Wall Jumping system
- Fix the "Infinite Jump" bug
- Make wall jumping feel more dynamic
- I'll take inspiration from games such as Dying Light and Mirrors Edge.
Hopeful Changes:
- Fully Rigged Body
- Previously mentioned animations + wall jumping and crouching
- Rigged Arms/Hands
- Wall Jumping and Ledge Jumping animations
- Minor texture update
- New textures for walls and wall-jumpable walls
