THE PARKOUR UPDATE IS LIVE!

Chrome Switcher is a parkour-puzzle game about navigating through levels by switching between three colors.

The Parkour Update is Live!

In my previous devlog, I announced my plans for a Parkour Update Week, where I would focus the entire week on re-vamping the parkour system along with additional changes. Today, I would like to announce that the parkour update is now live! It took me 3-4 days to fully implement a new parkour system, looking all over the place from previous projects, YouTube Tutorials, and so many other sources. I got my hands on MakeHuman to model a custom character for Chrome Switcher and I used a Mixamo to gather some basic animations, then I used Blender to adjust said animations. I'm pretty happy with the results! Let's get on with the change log :)

Showcase

Additions

  • Overhauled the Parkour System
    • Implemented Wall Jumping
    • Implemented Ledge Vaulting
  • Created a new main character

      • Made with MakeHuman and Blender
  • Added Animations
  • Updated Textures for Walls and Floors
    • I decided to keep the colors ultimately the same, though this may change in the future.

So what about the future?

In future devlogs, you can expect some minor changes and tweaks to the parkour system. This includes bugs, additions, etc... I plan on adding 27 more levels to Chrome Switcher before we release it to Steam. Once we have all 30 levels, there will be a period of testing, adjustments, and overall preparing for launch. If you've made it this far into the Devlog and you're not bored, thank you a lot for reading :)
